This Privacy Policy explains how CASH4HOMESUK LIMITED (company number 16895921), trading as Sold2Day ("we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you visit www.sold2day.co.uk ("the website") or use any of our services. We are the data controller for the personal data we process about you.

We are committed to processing your personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR).

2. The personal data we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect and process the following categories of data:

  • Identity & contact data — name, address, email, telephone number.
  • Property data — address, tenure, value estimates, photos, floorplans, EPC and viewing details.
  • Transaction data — offers, sale progression notes, conveyancer details.
  • Identity verification (AML) — passport, driving licence, proof of address, where required to comply with the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017.
  • Marketing preferences.
  • Technical & usage data — IP address, browser type, device, pages visited and analytics events.

3. How we collect your data

  • Directly from you (forms, valuation requests, calls, emails, WhatsApp).
  • Automatically through cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy).
  • From third parties such as the Land Registry, property portals, ID verification providers and your solicitor.

4. Lawful bases and purposes for processing

We only process your personal data where we have a lawful basis to do so under Article 6 UK GDPR:

  • Contract — to provide our valuation, marketing and sales-progression services.
  • Legal obligation — to meet AML, HMRC, accounting and consumer-protection duties.
  • Legitimate interests — to run and improve our business, prevent fraud, secure our website and contact prospective customers in a proportionate way.
  • Consent — for non-essential cookies and certain direct marketing channels. You can withdraw consent at any time.

5. Who we share your data with

We share personal data only where necessary, with:

  • Property portals (e.g. Rightmove, Zoopla, OnTheMarket) to list your property.
  • Prospective buyers and their solicitors during the sales process.
  • Conveyancers, mortgage brokers and surveyors instructed in the transaction.
  • Our CRM, hosting, email, telephony, analytics and ID-verification providers (data processors acting on our instructions).
  • HMRC, regulators, law enforcement and other authorities where legally required.
  • The Property Ombudsman in connection with a complaint.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

6. International transfers

Where our processors are based outside the UK, transfers are protected by adequacy regulations or the ICO's International Data Transfer Agreement / UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out above. Typical retention periods are: enquiry data — 24 months; client transaction files — 6 years after completion; AML records — 5 years after the business relationship ends; accounting records — 6 years (Companies Act 2006).

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access a copy of your personal data.
  • Have inaccurate data corrected.
  • Request erasure ("right to be forgotten") where applicable.
  • Restrict or object to processing, including direct marketing.
  • Data portability.
  • Withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.
